the best different tattoo design

Soooooooooooooooooooo..........the art walk last week was a smashing success. We did a ton of cool tattoos, made some new friends, and hung out with some old ones. Hightower played on the roof and everyone had a great time. Hannah also came back for the night to do some tattoos (we love you Hannah!)

If you don't know what Get What You Gets are (GWYG from now on), let me explain a bit:

For one night, you can get a tattoo for $60 at the shop, the only catch is that you have to put a quarter in the gumball machine, and whatever tattoo comes out is what you get tattooed. We really want this night to be fun for us as well so we only put images in there that we think will make for a good tattoo and that we'll have a good time doing.

Isaac made this sweet board and Iggy made the sign (Get Gets!!). The left shows the past GWYGs and the right side shows the ones we did that night.

Erik made this sign to keep the riff raff out.

We tried to take pictures of all the tattoos from that night and the people who got them. We didn't get everyone so if you're not here, we apologize! We'll get you next time! (Also? We have some gooood loookin clients! ) (Also, also? Isaac was taking all the pictures and running around so most of them are out of focus. Thanks Isaac!)

Hightower played on the roof again and they KILLED IT! The acoustics are so amazing for whatever reason and they know how to perform. I took this picture from across the street and behind me are another 2 or 3 hundred people... Way to go Lower Haight!

Aaron had an art show at Hatch gallery that night so he wasn't there to do any tattoos but he stopped by to check out the madness on the way home...or maybe add to the madness?

I just watched a video I posted over a year ago and I was shocked by the difference I see in the shop just from that short video. Iggy and Aaron are both now fathers, we've had artists come and go, shop guys/gals come and go, more walls got knocked down. We've had arguments, lots of meetings, travels, field trips, many many MANY bottles of Fernet. And at the core, we're still Idle Hand, a group of underdogs that no one else wanted who have found ways to build a name for ourselves, get along and (dare I say????!!) love each other. That's right you jerks! I love you! Shut up.

You know what else I love?? ART WALK! That's right...tomorrow Friday, Dec. 2, from 6pm - 9pm Lower Haight is having its quarterly art walk. We are having Hightower play at 8PM and we'll being doing Get What You Get tattoos again. This time we'll be doing Get What You Gets all day starting from 1pm until Whenever-the-Hell-we-Get Sick-of-Your-Face (which could be anywhere from 9pm - 2am). So spread the word.
